MACRO-FIBER (STRUCTURAL FIBER) REINFORCED CONCRETE
Macro-fiber (structural fiber) reinforced concrete uses longer (1-1/2" to 2") engineered synthetic fibers that provide structural reinforcement — replacing welded wire mesh or light rebar in many applications. Macro-fibers improve post-crack performance (concrete holds together after cracking), impact resistance, and fatigue resistance. Used in slabs-on-grade, pavements, shotcrete, and precast where traditional reinforcement can be reduced or eliminated.
engineered macro-fibers provide post-crack load capacity similar to light wire mesh.
eliminates the time and cost of placing welded wire mesh in many applications.
fibers hold concrete together after cracking, preventing chunks from breaking loose.
Macro-fiber reinforcement can replace welded wire mesh in many flatwork applications — saving time and labor while providing equivalent or better performance. The longer, engineered synthetic fibers provide structural reinforcement that keeps concrete functioning after cracks form, maintaining load transfer and preventing progressive deterioration.

Verify that macro-fiber dosage provides equivalent performance to the specified wire mesh or light rebar.
Macro-fibers added to the concrete mix at the batch plant at specified dosage rate.
Place and finish using standard methods — macro-fibers may require slightly modified finishing techniques.
Macro-fibers can replace welded wire mesh and light rebar in slabs-on-grade, pavements, and some precast applications. They generally cannot replace heavy rebar in structural elements like foundations, walls, and beams. An engineer should review the substitution for your specific application.
