INSULATING CONCRETE — THERMAL PERFORMANCE

Insulating concrete is ultra-lightweight (20-50 PCF) cellular concrete designed primarily for thermal insulation rather than structural load-bearing. Used as roof deck insulation (slope-to-drain systems), floor fill insulation, pipe bury insulation, and radiant floor underlayment. Provides continuous insulation without joints or seams, is fire-resistant (noncombustible), and can achieve R-values up to R-3.5 per inch at lowest densities.

Key Highlights

Why Choose Our Insulating Concrete

Insulating concrete provides continuous, seamless thermal insulation using ultra-lightweight cellular concrete (20-50 PCF). Most commonly used in roof deck insulation systems where it creates a slope-to-drain surface over structural metal deck. The noncombustible, seamless insulation layer eliminates thermal bridging and provides built-in fire resistance.

Signs You Need Insulating Concrete

1. Roof insulation or slope-to-drain

Your flat roof needs insulation and/or positive drainage slope — insulating concrete provides both in one application.

Our Process

1

Step 1Design

Calculate required thickness, density, and R-value based on energy code requirements.

2

Step 2Production

Produce ultra-lightweight cellular concrete at specified density on-site.

3

Step 3Placement

Pump onto roof deck, screed to designed slope pattern, and allow to cure.

FAQs About Insulating Concrete

What R-value does insulating concrete provide?

R-value depends on density: 20 PCF provides approximately R-3.5 per inch, 30 PCF provides R-2.5 per inch, and 50 PCF provides R-1.5 per inch. Multiple inches are typically applied to achieve the required total R-value for the roof assembly.
