LIGHTWEIGHT FILL & CELLULAR CONCRETE
Lightweight fill concrete uses either cellular technology (foam mixed into cement slurry) or lightweight aggregates (expanded shale, clay, or slag) to produce concrete at 30-120 PCF — significantly lighter than standard 150 PCF concrete. Used for void fill (abandoned tanks, pipes, mines), roof fill (slope-to-drain), geotechnical fill (behind retaining walls), floor fill over structural decks, and any application where reduced weight is critical.
30-120 PCF vs standard 150 PCF for significant weight reduction.
fills abandoned pipes, tanks, tunnels, and underground voids safely.
lightweight backfill behind retaining walls and over structures.
Lightweight fill concrete is the solution when weight matters — filling voids, reducing loads on structures, and replacing heavy fill materials. We produce cellular concrete (foam-cement mixtures) at specified densities from 30 to 120 PCF for void fill, geotechnical applications, roof fill, and any situation requiring controlled-density, lightweight concrete fill.
Abandoned underground tanks, pipes, tunnels, or voids need to be safely filled with controlled material.
Determine required density and strength based on application requirements.
Produce cellular concrete by mixing foam into cement slurry at the specified density.
Pump lightweight concrete into place — it's self-leveling and requires no vibration or compaction.
Cellular concrete can be produced as light as 20-30 PCF (less than 1/5 the weight of standard concrete). At these low densities it provides insulation value but minimal structural strength. Higher-density cellular (80-120 PCF) provides both weight reduction and moderate structural capacity.
