Front Entry Steps & Stoops

CONCRETE FRONT ENTRY STEPS, STOOPS & PORCHES

Front entry steps are the first impression of your home and must meet building code for safety. We pour concrete entry steps with proper riser height (max 7-3/4"), tread depth (min 10"), and uniform dimensions throughout the staircase. Every entry includes a landing (stoop) sized to the door swing, non-slip broom or textured finish, and provisions for handrail post anchoring. We pour steps monolithically when possible for maximum strength.

Why Choose Our Front Entry Steps & Stoops

Your front entry steps are the first thing visitors see and the surface you use multiple times every day. We pour entry steps that are safe, code-compliant, and attractive. Every set of front steps includes proper frost-depth footings, monolithic construction (steps and stoop poured together), and non-slip finishing for Minnesota's icy winters.

Signs You Need Front Entry Steps & Stoops

1. Crumbling or settled steps

Entry steps are cracking, spalling, or have settled away from the house creating a gap and safety hazard.

2. Non-uniform risers

Step heights vary, creating a trip hazard — building code requires uniform riser height throughout a stairway.

FAQs About Front Entry Steps & Stoops

Should front steps be attached to the house?

Steps should be connected to the house foundation with rebar dowels for stability. However, an isolation joint between the stoop and house wall allows independent movement (settlement) without cracking the house foundation. We use both connections depending on the specific situation.
