STRUCTURAL CONCRETE WALLS — POURED, PRECAST & ICF CONSTRUCTION

Structural concrete walls form the backbone of buildings. We pour basement walls, foundation walls, and tilt-up wall panels; install precast concrete wall panels and precast basement walls; and construct ICF (insulated concrete form) walls for energy-efficient above-grade and below-grade construction. All structural walls include engineered reinforcement, proper waterproofing, and code-compliant connections.

5 Highlights on Structural Concrete Walls

Poured concrete walls

basement walls, foundation walls, and tilt-up wall panels for residential and commercial construction.

Precast concrete walls

factory-manufactured panel installation, precast basement walls, and precast retaining walls for faster construction.

ICF walls

insulated concrete form construction for energy-efficient basements and above-grade walls with superior insulation and strength.

All structural walls include engineered reinforcement, waterproofing systems, and code-compliant structural connections.

Why Choose Our Structural Concrete Walls

Structural concrete walls are the backbone of buildings. We build them with the precision and reinforcement they require for safety and longevity.

We're experienced with all three major wall systems — poured-in-place, precast, and ICF — and can recommend the best option for your project.

ICF construction is growing in Minnesota for its superior energy efficiency. We're experienced ICF installers who can build basement and above-grade ICF walls.

Signs You Need Structural Concrete Walls

1. New home or building construction

Structural walls are required for basements, foundations, and load-bearing applications in new construction.

2. Want energy-efficient construction

ICF walls provide R-23+ insulation value, reducing heating and cooling costs significantly compared to standard construction.

3. Fast-track construction schedule

Precast wall panels can dramatically reduce construction time compared to poured-in-place walls.

Our Structural Concrete Walls Process

1

Step 1Design Coordination

Review structural plans, confirm wall dimensions, reinforcement, and connection details with the design team.

2

Step 2Forming or Assembly

For poured walls: set steel or aluminum forms. For ICF: stack and brace insulated forms. For precast: coordinate crane and panel delivery.

3

Step 3Reinforcement

Install rebar, anchor bolts, and embedded items per structural drawings.

4

Step 4Concrete Placement

Pour concrete with proper vibration to eliminate voids. For precast: set panels with crane and grout connections.

5

Step 5Stripping & Waterproofing

Remove forms (poured walls), apply waterproofing, and install drainage systems.

Brands We Use

  • Fox Blocks — ICF wall systems
  • Nudura — insulated concrete forms
  • Superior Walls — precast foundation wall panels
  • Simpson Strong-Tie — structural wall connectors

FAQs About Structural Concrete Walls

What is ICF construction?

ICF (Insulated Concrete Forms) uses interlocking foam blocks that are stacked, braced, and filled with concrete. The foam stays in place permanently, providing continuous insulation on both sides of the concrete wall.

Are poured concrete walls stronger than block?

Poured concrete walls are generally stronger than CMU block walls for lateral load resistance. They have no mortar joints that can crack or leak, and the monolithic pour creates a seamless structural unit.
