Our Polished Concrete Process
Step 1 — Surface Assessment
Evaluate the existing concrete for hardness, condition, and suitability for polishing. Identify any repairs needed before grinding.
Step 2 — Coarse Grinding
Remove surface imperfections with 30-100 grit diamond tooling. Level the floor and expose fresh concrete.
Step 3 — Densifier Application
Apply lithium silicate densifier to chemically harden and seal the concrete. Allow full absorption and reaction.
Step 4 — Fine Grinding & Polishing
Progress through 200, 400, 800, 1500, and 3000 grit diamonds to achieve the desired level of sheen.
Step 5 — Optional Stain or Dye
Apply concrete dye or stain between grinding steps for color. Available in a wide range of colors.
Step 6 — Final Guard Application
Apply polished concrete guard or sealer for additional stain resistance and easier maintenance.

How long does polished concrete last?
Polished concrete floors last 20+ years with proper maintenance. The densified surface is extremely hard-wearing and actually improves with use as foot traffic further polishes the surface.
Is polished concrete slippery?
Polished concrete has a coefficient of friction similar to regular concrete. It actually becomes less slippery when wet compared to waxed or coated floors. Anti-slip treatments are available for areas needing extra traction.
